At CohesiveFT we wanted to offer a simple way that would allow anyone to assemble and download their own development and demo servers in minutes. Our solution, Elastic Server On-Demand, is a cost-effective, automation solution that enables customers to gain business advantage from new opportunities in data center computing, reducing application infrastructure complexity while increasing agility and customer control.
This is the Shindig portal, one of many Provisioning Portals or content pages with grouped components for different areas of interest. Portal categories include: Open Source Projects (ex. Mule ESB); Industry Standards (ex. AMQP), Technical Communities (ex. SOA Parts), and Specific Enterprise IT.
Here is your daily snapshot of Shindig, compiled and uploaded into our on-demand service directly. We drop the resulting binaries into a virtual containers, and there you go; brand new, shiny, Elastic Servers running the latest version of Shindig.
There are two ways for you to get a Shindig Elastic Server now.
1. You can download an existing Elastic Server with Shindig from the 'Daily Snapshots' box in the right column. These Elastic Servers are pre-built with Tomcat 6, ready for you to download and use. Either select the most recent archived build based on your preferred virtual container or view the directory listing of older Shindig Snapshots.
2. Alternatively, build your own below and deploy it to Amazon with your EC2 credentials. Or build one in VMware, Parallels or Xen format.
Why build your own instead of downloading a pre-built VMs? Because each Elastic Server built gets its own unique ID (for patching purposes) and its own unique MAC address, so no DHCP conflicts!
Note: all of the following should be placed after the IP address and the port number based on your VM and selected Serverlet Container (Tomcat5 uses port 8180 by default, Tomcat6 uses 8080).
For example: 192.168.1.140:8180/[demo html/xml file source below].
